To be honest, I personally think this is a "good time" for HK. In the days when HK was a poor city, the people worked hard, wrecked their brains & put their innovative ideas into action. After HK had become "rich", the people lived an extravagant life, paying much attention to spending money & showing off. As Charles Dickens had said in the Tale of Two Cities, " This is the worst time, this is the best time."
HK still has the management skills & the experience in international trade that China needs. That's why it's so important to think global. Instead of moaning, I think we all have to have a wider vision of what is actually happening in the world. Keep up reading good magazines such as "the Economist" "Newsweek", etc. Even in the midst of the worst economist depression in the history of mankind, there have been people who could make the most of the situation. The question is," Is that you?" That gives a good thought.
my sharing is just ask one simple question ? - why God put me in Hong Kong as a Chinese and not in anywhere in the world as whatever it is. Since He put me here, is it wrong ? is He plan to make me his tool in Hong Kong ? if then, if I not satisfy and full of "ideas", which means He is not quite "right". Does it mean I have to stay in Hong Kong and do my best in my post and whereabout because He post me here ? He give me two children a beautiful wife and a warm home because I do as He plan and stay here do my best. I don't want to be 約拿 and eat by a fish. well, just want to share. me is me anyway. He guide me for 62 years. I obey 62 years. no complaints. I stayed in my post in Hong Kong and as a Chinese. I am proud of it.
